How do you do it?! The one question I get asked over & over again . . .
People ask me a lot (& especially lately) how I do it all. How do I teach so much, travel so often & know the people I do? 🤷🏼♀️ I’m guessing what they’re really asking is how I’ve managed to build a business whereby I get to travel the world, teach ballet as I go & meet such extraordinary people! 💁🏼♀️
My answer would be the same every time: passion, hard work, knowledge & timing.
PASSION: I love ballet but what I love more is people learning ballet! I thought I knew my passion for years & years, & ballet is of course my world but what I’ve discovered the longer I’ve been teaching is actually PEOPLE give me the inspiration to teach. Ballet is just my medium. People come with amazing adventures & stories to tell & I want to be a part of it all! If you let people into your world with kindness & humility they’ll let you into theirs which is how I’ve managed to teach so many people as well as build a incredible team around me. This team is built on an understanding of each other’s values & talents, all of which we bring to En Avant Ballet 🖤
Another passion of mine is the planet! I love to travel & plan to visit as many countries as humanly possible.
HARD WORK: I got nowhere in life through dependency! I worked & still work very hard everyday to make myself & En Avant Ballet better for all those involved. I honour each connection I make (as you never know how that person could play a part in your life) I know my business model, my brand & I’m always thinking ahead. Although I am happy with where things are at, I am always keeping myself on my toes. No one will give me that self determination except myself! I’m not always right & things are often chaotic but that’s also part of the journey & I become more & more comfortable being an entrepreneur every year.
KNOWLEDGE: Be a leader & know your craft! Perfect it (as much as you can), listen to others, learn & practice at every opportunity & keep hungry for more knowledge!
TIMING: This is more philosophical & out of our own control . . . I believe everything happens when it’s meant to. Patience really is a virtue! But at the same time, it’s important to know when to jump at opportunities & utilise the time you have (which isn’t much) & the best advice I was given was to live like it’s already happening . . . & don’t be afraid!
