HOW DO I KNOW IF BALLET IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Well you don't, until you try it!
The amazing thing about ballet is that whatever stage you're at in your life, you can always start from the beginning, particularly in an En Avant Ballet class. We're really thorough about the basic posture, positions of the feet, legs and arms and these are constantly reinforced during the class so they start to become much more habitual and 'normal' . . . as if it's ever normal to stand with your legs turned out in opposite directions!
Ballet has so many wonderful health benefits that each class you do will give you back something, even at a beginner level. You will feel mentally challenged as you start to improve your memory, focus and musicality while at the same time working your entire body, from the top of your head (including your brain) down to your toenails!
Learning ballet as an adult means there's no pressure. You're not joining a ballet class expecting to be a ballet dancer - it's just not possible. But that doesn't mean that you can't benefit from its incredibly detailed and holistic technique. Classes will leave up feeling uplifted, inspired and proud of yourself; no one said it was easy, but you did it anyway!
Allow yourself to be a beginner - remember, we were all beginners once.
